The Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio - Rates and Information

The Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio was the perfect place to stay based on location, comfort, and amenities. When I booked my room, I was surprised to see such a highly rated hotel for a rate of $110 per night. Quickly, I booked my room and never even thought of looking for a different location.

Like many hotels in Costa Rica, the Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio features 25 individual bungalow-style rooms. Each bungalow is individually placed throughout the hotel’s luscious gardens. During my stay, I felt like I had my own private hotel, as the gardens give each bungalow quite a bit of privacy.

In addition to extremely comfortable rooms and beautiful gardens, the Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio also has a restaurant and a pool. When all of the above amenities are added in with its location, it is easy to see why the Falls Resort has so many phenomenal reviews.

Manuel Antonio National Park is a 30-minute walk or a ten-minute taxi ride from the entrance to the hotel. While the property is not near the beach, guests can get a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean by crossing the street.

The Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio - The Room

My room was room number 11 and continued a single king bed.  One of the highlights of my unique bungalow-style room was the exterior porch.  The porch features a hammock, two chairs, a table, and a ceiling fan.  Each evening I spent some time on the porch editing and uploading my photos.  I was able to get WiFi access while on the porch.

The layout of the room was different than any hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.  There were two rooms, a bedroom with extremely high ceilings and a very strong air conditioner.  Attached to the bedroom was a bathroom that was almost the same size as the bedroom.  The bathroom was not air-conditioned but had windows that opened up to allow a breeze to pass through.

The bed was extremely comfortable and came with mosquito netting.  I did not notice any mosquitos in the room and assumed it must be mostly decorative.

The bathroom had a walk-in shower, an enclosed toilet, and a closet with sliding doors. Like many places in Costa Rica, there was a garbage can next to the toilet. Guests are asked to dispose of toilet paper in the garbage as flushing it can clog the pipes

In the bedroom, there was a television, a desk, and a refrigerator.  I did not spend much time in the room, so I didn’t use the TV or the desk.

The Falls at Manuel Antonio - Pool and Gardens

At check-in, each guest is issued a towel card. The card, or a beach towel, must be returned at check-out to avoid a $20 fee. The pool at the Falls at Manuel Antonio is located in the middle of the property’s beautiful gardens. It is not uncommon to see wildlife near the pool. In the picture below, a large iguana is sunning near the pool.

One thing I will always remember about this property is the smell of the gardens as I walked to my room. The Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio literally smelled like an air freshener. If you have allergies, I highly recommend bringing some medicine so you can enjoy the gardens without feeling sick.

Walking Throught the Gardens

To get to the rooms, pool, and restaurant, you will have to navigate through the gardens. It’s not hard to find your way around, and at check-in, the front desk agent showed me the way to my room. While walking through the gardens, I saw monkeys on more than one occasion.

The Falls at Manuel Antonio - Restaurant

There is a fabulous restaurant at the Falls Resort at Manuel Antonio. Breakfast is provided, and lunch and dinner are available for an additional charge. I never made it to breakfast, but I did eat lunch and dessert during my stay.

Many of the items on the menu were seafood which I do not eat, so I went with the beef nachos and a caramel brownie for dessert. Be sure to order one of their delicious natural fruit smoothies (non-alcoholic) to drink.

On my last night at the hotel I ordered an ice cream sundae after a day of touring Manuel Antonio National Park.
