About My Trips to Oceania

I embarked on an epic adventure across Australia and New Zealand. In Australia, I explored vibrant cities like Sydney and Melbourne, marveling at iconic landmarks and soaking up the urban energy. Beyond the metropolises, I ventured into the rugged wilderness, witnessing the awe-inspiring beauty of the Great Ocean Road, the West MacDonnell Ranges, and Uluru. A visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park brought me face-to-face with Australia’s fascinating wildlife.

New Zealand presented a beautiful contrast. While a lengthy customs check slowed my arrival in Queenstown, the stunning scenery and exceptional service at the Hilton Resort and Spa quickly made up for it. I explored Queenstown by gondola, indulging in breathtaking views and shopping for unique souvenirs. The delicious food at Flame Bar and Grill left me wanting more, and a visit to the Sky Tower in Auckland offered panoramic vistas of the city. New Zealand’s blend of relaxation, adventure, and delectable cuisine made it a truly unforgettable journey.

Australia offered a perfect blend of cityscapes and wild adventures. I wandered iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach in Sydney and Melbourne. Beyond the cities, I explored the Great Ocean Road, the West MacDonnell Ranges, and Uluru, witnessing Australia’s rugged beauty. A close encounter with koalas and wallabies at the Featherdale Wildlife Park rounded out the experience.

Navigating Sydney was a breeze with the Opal Card, granting access to trains, buses, ferries, and even light rail. My exploration of the Sydney Harbour area included the Opera House, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For a breathtaking perspective, I ascended the Sydney Tower Eye and marveled at the city’s panoramic views.

Venturing beyond Sydney, I flew to Alice Springs to delve into the Red Centre. Here, tours introduced me to the natural wonders, history, and Aboriginal culture of the West MacDonnell Ranges and Uluru (Ayers Rock).

New Zealand’s beauty was undeniable, but my arrival in Queenstown wasn’t. Despite declaring everything at customs, my bags raised red flags, leading to a lengthy search. Thankfully, the Hilton Resort and Spa came to the rescue. Upgraded to a room with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking Lake Wakatipu, relaxation became a breeze. Daily walks along the scenic shoreline path were a perfect way to start the day, and the water taxi made getting around effortless.

Queenstown itself was a thrill. Soaring gondola rides at Skyline Queenstown offered breathtaking views, and the shops yielded unique souvenirs – a rugby jersey and a jade kiwi! Flame Bar and Grill’s delicious food was so good, I had to revisit for a second helping.

Auckland provided a contrasting experience. The Sky City Hotel, conveniently located next to the Sky Tower, offered a comfortable room with a spacious shower and a work-friendly desk. While the Sky Tower wasn’t included, the splurge on the observation deck was worth it – the city sprawled beneath me in all its glory.

New Zealand’s blend of relaxation, sightseeing, and culinary delights made it an unforgettable trip.
