Relais Forus Inn

Relais Forus Inn - Hotel Information and Rate

Most of the cities I visit have an efficient metro system, and I always choose a hotel as close to the central metro station as possible. In this case, I chose the Relais Forus Inn, which was within walking distance of the Blue Line Metro Station of Cavour. My hotel was also within a walkable distance from Roma Termini Station, although it is far easier to jump on the Blue Line.

I was only in Rome for three nights, and my total cost for the hotel was a very reasonable €218. The price came out to €72 per night. Between the price and mostly strong reviews, I decided the Relais Forus would be the perfect hotel for me.

Getting to the Relais Forus Inn

My only issue with the Relais Forus Hotel was that I could not find it. After taking the train from Rome International Airport to Roma Termini Station, I walked to the hotel following the map on my phone. When I arrived at the location, the hotel was nowhere to be found. The hotel itself is inside a shared building on the second floor. I could not figure out how to get into the building and had to call the hotel using my cell phone. Through a mix of broken English and my one or two Italian phrases, I knew I was able to get the hotel to send someone down to let me in the building. The rest of the time, gaining access to the building was easy as my key card opened the outside door.

The Room

Only being in Rome for three days meant I did not need a fancy hotel. I was just in my hotel room for short periods to take a break or go to sleep. The bed was queen size and very comfortable. I usually prefer harder beds, and this bed had my approval due to its firm mattress. There was not much space in the room itself, but there was adequate space for a single person. The main amenity was a minibar and fridge, which included a free bottle of wine. I do not drink, so I left the bottle unopened, but it was a kind gesture that was appreciated.

The bathroom featured a toilet, a bidet, and a Turkish Bath. The shower had a rain-shower-style showerhead as well as an option to generate steam. There was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and the shower had excellent water pressure. An unneeded amenity was colorful mood lighting that was inside the shower.

For a two-star hotel that was well under €100 a night, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the Relais Forus Inn. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. Being within walking distance of the Colosseum was a bonus as well. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to attractions and public transportation.
