Hotel Nani Mocenigo Palace - Rates and Hotel Information

While looking for hotels in Venice, I came across a hotel that looked like a real palace. Hotel Nani Mocenigo Palace is exactly what I would expect from a hotel that has “Palace” in its name.

In addition to the excellent location, the hotel lobby, common areas, and rooms were stunning, which made me feel like I was in an actual palace.  The hotel is located near Zattere Station right next to the Gondola Workshop on a small canal.  There are a restaurant and a gelato shop within 50 meters of the entry to the hotel.  While the building looks worn from the outside, it is like a palace on the inside.

The rate for my room was €110 per night. After check-in, the same porter showed me all of the amenities in my room and where all of the common spaces were located.

It is easy to see why guests rank this hotel between 9.5 and 9.8 out of 10.  Between the first class accommodations, historical appearance, and helpful staff I honestly felt like I was staying in a palace in the Venice of old.

Checking In at Hotel Nani Mocenigo, the Lobby, and Common Areas

When I arrived, there was a porter who greeted me and took my bag to my room and waited for me to check-in.  During the check-in process, the front desk receptionist answered all of my questions and provided me with maps and tips for sightseeing.

The front desk is staffed 24/7 with a knowledgable receptionist.  The receptionist was accommodating every time I had a question and spoke fluent English.

Although there is an elevator, it was too tempting not to take the red carpet-lined stairs.  The stairs took me directly to my room.  I was in one of two rooms on this floor.

Outside each set of rooms, was a common area for sitting and talking.  I never used the common area but did take a picture of it.

The inside of the room is a mix of Venetian and modern.  While it was definitely a Venetian style bed, it was extremely comfortable.  Next to the bed were two nightstands, a dresser, and a wardrobe that provided plenty of storage space.

The bathroom was very modern but still decorated in an ancient Venetian theme. The shower had two rainfall-style shower heads and then two handheld showerheads. There was plenty of room in the shower to turn around.

Just outside the shower were a bidet and a toilet. Across from the toilet was an old sink which did not work.

Just past the old sink was a much more modern sink.
