About My Trip to Romania
My trip to Romania was a delightful blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I began my journey with a comfortable flight on TAROM Air Transport from Budapest to Bucharest, where I was immediately captivated by the city’s vibrant atmosphere. While using a Eurail Pass to explore the country was convenient, I encountered some challenges with making reservations and navigating the train stations.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting Bran Castle, often associated with the legendary Dracula. Although I found the connection to Dracula a bit overstated, the castle itself is a magnificent historical landmark with stunning architecture and breathtaking views.
I also spent time exploring Bucharest on foot, discovering the city’s charming streets, vibrant squares, and impressive landmarks like the Palace of Justice and the Palace of Parliament. For a day of relaxation, I ventured to the Black Sea coast and enjoyed the sun, sand, and refreshing waters of Constanța.
Overall, my trip to Romania was an unforgettable experience filled with fascinating history, cultural discoveries, and stunning natural beauty.

I took a flight with TAROM Air Transport from Budapest to Bucharest. Despite its small size and lack of in-flight amenities, I enjoyed the nostalgic charm of the ATR-72 turboprop aircraft. The booking process was easy and the check-in was efficient. While the seats were cramped, the overall experience was positive. I would definitely recommend TAROM for those seeking a more personal and traditional flying experience.
I used a Eurail Pass to travel around Romania by train. While it’s a convenient option, I encountered some challenges. Making seat reservations was difficult, there were long lines at the train station, and tickets were often sold out. If you’re planning a trip to Romania, I recommend considering alternative transportation options or purchasing tickets directly from CFR.
Bran
I visited Bran Castle, often associated with Dracula. While the castle itself is beautiful and offers a glimpse into Romanian history, I found the connection to Dracula to be a bit of a stretch. The journey from Bucharest was long, involving a train ride and then a bus transfer. Despite the crowds and lines, the castle is definitely worth a visit.

Bucharest
I explored Bucharest on foot and discovered its vibrant atmosphere. I strolled down Calea Victoriei, a historic pedestrian street lined with elegant buildings. I also visited the Palace of Justice and the impressive Palace of Parliament, the second-largest administrative building in the world. If you’re planning a trip to Bucharest, I highly recommend taking a self-guided walking tour to experience the city’s unique charm.
Constanta
I spent a day at Constanta’s Black Sea beaches and had a fantastic time. The journey from Bucharest was easy, and the beaches were beautiful with soft sand and refreshing water. I enjoyed relaxing on the beach, taking photos from the piers, and exploring the historic city center. Constanta’s Black Sea beaches are a great destination for a day trip.
Ready for a seaside adventure? Join me on a day trip from Bucharest to Constanța and soak up the sun on the Black Sea’s sandy shores. We’ll start our journey at Bucharest North Station and enjoy a scenic train ride crossing the Danube River and the Danube Canal.
Once in Constanța, we’ll make our way to the beach and dive into the refreshing waters. Don’t let the seaweed deter you—it’s harmless and adds to the unique charm of the Black Sea. Let’s enjoy a memorable day filled with relaxation and coastal beauty.
