Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi - Information and Rates

The Tokyo Metro Area is the largest metropolitan area in the world. The city is so spread out that there are many choices when looking for the perfect hotel. I chose my hotel simply because of the location. Since I would be traveling all over the Tokyo Metro Area, I decided that I wanted to be within walking distance of Tokyo Station. The Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi was a perfect choice.

I chose the Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi, which was about a half a mile from Tokyo Station and right next to the Metro Station of Otemachi. Being close to Tokyo Station was perfect for me, but if a traveler wanted to be close to the main attractions, this hotel would not be the right choice.  My price was $577 (4 nights) for a standard queen room.

While the price of this hotel was high, for the size of the room, the location made it worth spending a little bit of extra money.  Each day, I was able to be on the metro or train within 15 minutes of leaving my hotel.  There was a restaurant attached that I never used and the staff spoke English.  They were very polite and ready to do anything to help make my trip more comfortable.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi - The Room

The room was very comfortable but relatively small. During my time in Japan, temperatures were in the upper 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The air conditioner in my room worked extremely well, and after the long days of touring, I was able to cool off in the room and relax before bed.

In the bathroom was a modern Japanese Electric Toilet and a shower with a small bathtub. The hotel also provided pajamas although they did not come close to fitting me,

Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi - Laundry

One of the main amenities that I used was the laundry room. Floors 2 and 3 each had a single laundry machine that supplied the detergent, washed the clothes, and then dried the clothes in the same machine. It was a bargain at 500 Yen ($5) and allowed me to bring a lot fewer clothes knowing, I could do laundry. The laundry room had instructions in both Japanese and English.
