About My Trip to Brazil

Brazil ended up being a highlight of my Iguazu Falls trip, even though I visited it as a day trip from the Argentina side. After crossing the border from Puerto Iguazú into Foz do Iguaçu, my first stop was Parque das Aves, a bird park with walk-through habitats that made it easy to photograph wildlife up close. The park felt tropical and shaded, and I loved how accessible the experience was, with clear signage and an easy-to-follow path.

From there, I headed to Iguaçu National Park to see the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls, which is all about wide, panoramic viewpoints that show the scale of the waterfall system. Compared to Argentina’s trails, the Brazilian side felt more streamlined and more crowded in the most popular viewing areas, but the views were absolutely worth it. Seeing Devil’s Throat from the Brazilian platforms was intense, especially with the mist and the roar of the water right in front of you.

I took a break for lunch inside the park, then finished the day with the Macuco Safari boat ride, which brought me under the falls and completely soaked everyone onboard. It was one of the most exciting ways to experience Iguazu and a memorable way to end the day.

Foz do Iguaçu

On my second day at Iguazu Falls, I took a day trip from Puerto Iguazú to see the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. This side felt more streamlined, with one main route and heavy crowds in the most popular viewing areas, but the panoramic views were incredible.

I share what it was like crossing the Argentina–Brazil border with a guide, entering Iguaçu National Park, and walking the main trail to the Devil’s Throat platforms.

I also explain how the optional add-ons worked, including my morning stop at Parque das Aves and the Macuco Safari boat ride under the falls.

If you’re deciding between the two sides, I break down what felt different and why I think the Brazil side is worth it for the big-picture perspective.

Parque das Aves in Foz do Iguaçu was my first stop after crossing from Argentina on the way to Iguazu Falls (Brazilian side). The park follows a clear circular path through shaded, tropical-feeling forest, with restrooms and spots to grab a drink along the way.

What made it stand out for me were the walk-through aviaries, where I could photograph birds up close instead of viewing everything from behind a barrier.

I saw an incredible range of wildlife, including macaws, toucans, owls, and even a King Vulture, plus the butterfly house with Owl Butterflies. I also enjoyed noticing the tropical plants along the trail, especially the Heliconia (Lobster Claws) and colorful bromeliads.

It was an easy add-on that fit perfectly into a full day at the falls, and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes wildlife and photography.
