Canopy By Hilton, Cancun
Canopy By Hilton, Cancun - Rates and Information
During my trip to Cancun, I stayed in three different hotels in various areas, including the city center, Isla Mujeres, and the Hotel Zone. For my hotel in Cancun’s famous Hotel Zone, I chose the Canopy by Hilton, Cancun.
I chose this hotel for a few different reasons. First, I have loyalty to Hilton as I am a Hilton Honors Gold Member and benefit from free upgrades. Also, I wanted to use Hilton points to help bring down the cost of staying in the Hotel Zone, where hotels are typically quite expensive. While the Canopy by Hilton, Cancun, doesn’t have direct beach access, there are public beaches nearby. Finally, the Canopy by Hilton, Cancun, is one of the newest hotels in the Hotel Zone, having been open for a few months before my visit.
The cost of my room at the Canopy by Hilton, Cancun, was $47, plus 102,000 Hilton Points for two nights. Without the Hilton points, the room would have cost over $650.

There are plenty of options to get from the Cancun International Airport to your hotel. Typically, I either take a taxi or an Uber, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, I decided to pre-book my airport transportation using a private transfer company. I thought this would be the safest way to ensure the vehicle had been properly sanitized after the driver’s previous trips.

Canopy By Hilton, Cancun - The Room
Around 24-hours before my arrival, I checked in on my phone and was provided a mobile key that is activated using my phone’s Bluetooth. I still had to visit the lobby to fill out my COVID-19 tracing form. The form simply asks if I have any Coronavirus symptoms as well as my local contact information. As I was filling out the form, I was informed I had been upgraded to a room on the top floor with a better view.
I was very impressed with my room at the Canopy By Hilton, Cancun. The room was super modern, and everything was brand new. My room had a king bed with the typical Hilton bed linens, an open-air closet, a work station with a large tv, a minibar, a small couch, and a very unique swing. While I did not spend much time in my room, I did find the swing to be a great place to relax and look out at the spectacular view.
My room had a standard bathroom with a walk-in shower. There was great water pressure and plenty of hot water. I especially enjoyed the shampoo and body wash, which were locally produced and had a tropical scent.
In the left corner, you can see the swing. It was made out of padded wires and was extremely comfortable. To the right was a small couch.
My room offered a great view of the Laguna as well as the La Isla Ferris Wheel. Being within a 5-minute walk of the La Isla Shopping Mall provided plenty of options for dining and late-night snacks.
The Canopy By Hilton, Cancun, exceeded my expectations in terms of the quality of the room and its location. While the hotel had limited amenities due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the staff was extremely helpful. During my stay, housekeeping only was servicing rooms at the guest’s request. I did not request housekeeping, but they did bring me extra towels and toiletries. I had a great stay and give the Canopy By Hilton my full recommendation.
