Best Views of the Toronto Skyline

Why the Toronto Islands are the Best Place to Photograph the Toronto Skyline?

During a recent trip to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, I was looking for the best place to photograph the Toronto Skyline. A quick search of “Where are the best views of the Toronto Skyline?” led me to Toronto Islands’ Centre Island. It was on Centre Island that I was able to get the best photos of the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, and the Toronto Skyline.

In addition to getting great photos of Toronto, there are many other things to do on the Toronto Islands as well. I highly recommend taking some time to walk through the center of the island.

During my visit, I enjoyed walking to the end of the Centre Island Pier and then wading in the cold water of Lake Ontario. Even from the Centre Island Pier, the CN tower will be visible for photography opportunities.

If you have time, be sure to walk to the east and see the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1808 and is the oldest existing lighthouse on the great lakes.

My Favorite Photos of the Toronto Skyline from Centre Island

There are quite a few locations on Toronto’s Centre Island to take photographs of the Toronto Skyline. All of these locations will provide excellent photo opportunities to photograph the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, and the main parts of the Toronto Skyline.

In my opinion, the best views of the Toronto Skyline come from Olympic Island Beach. Although I refer to it as a beach, this area isn’t great for swimming. To swim at the Toronto Islands, visit Centre Island Beach near the Pier.

The easiest way to get to Olympic Island Beach is to take the Centre Island Ferry from downtown Toronto. Once at Centre Island, Olympic Island is only about a five-minute walk. After crossing the pedestrian bridge, walk all the way to the shoreline, and you will see a spectacular view of the Toronto Skyline. Take your time photographing the skyline and use a zoom lens to get great photos of the CN Tower and Rogers Centre.

The other location that was great for photographing the Toronto Skyline was near Hanlan’s Point. Billy Bishop International Airport will be in the background, and photographers can not only get a photo of the Toronto Skyline but also take some great aviation photographs.

Below are some of my favorite photos of the Toronto Skyline from Centre Island.
