Getting to the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 from the Other Terminals
If you’re arriving at a terminal other than Terminal 4, you’ll need to take the airport’s free subway to reach the hotel.
To get to the subway, follow the signs for the Elizabeth Line, Heathrow Express, and Free Train.

How to Get a Free London Heathrow Train Ticket Between Terminals
Look for a ticket vending machine labeled “Free Train to Terminals 2 & 3, 4, and 5.” The machine will only offer one option: “print ticket.” Once you have your ticket, follow the signs to the platform.

Board the Train to Terminal 4
Important: Be sure to board the correct train. When I was there, the first few trains went to Terminal 5. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a train to Terminal 4.

Taking the Train to London Heathrow Terminal 4
Once you arrive at Terminal 4, follow the signs to the hotel walkway. The Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 is a short five-minute walk from the subway exit.

My Experience at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4
Check In Process
Check-in was a breeze. There were plenty of staff members at the reception, and I was in my room within ten minutes of arriving at the hotel. Keep in mind that the Holiday Inn Express shares a building with the Crown Plaza, so be sure to head towards the Holiday Inn Express section when checking in or looking for your room.

My Room - A Standard Double Room
The room at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 was straightforward but comfortable. My room featured a king-sized bed, a small desk, and a flat-screen TV.

The bathroom had a walk-in shower with good water pressure. My room overlooked the taxi area and runways, but as I arrived late at night, there wasn’t much to see.
Since I had an early morning flight, my stay was brief, totaling only about six hours.

Breakfast Buffet - Make Your Own English Breakfast
Breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 is served daily from 5 AM to 10 AM. The buffet-style spread offered a classic English breakfast with staples like beans, tomatoes, potatoes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. Additionally, there was a selection of pastries, cereals, and fresh fruit. Beverage options included orange juice, apple juice, water, tea, and coffee. After a quick meal, I checked out of the hotel.

Getting From the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 to the Terminal 3
Since my luggage was already checked through to my final destination and I had my boarding pass ready, I was able to bypass the check-in counter and head straight to security. I took the subway to Terminals 2 and 3 approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes before my flight’s departure.
The journey from Terminal 4 to my gate in Terminal 3, including security clearance, took around 45 minutes. If you’re traveling without checked luggage and need to check in, I recommend arriving at the subway at least two hours before your flight’s departure to allow ample time for the process.

My Overall Thoughts on Staying at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4
The Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 was an ideal choice for my needs. At under £100, it offered excellent value for a simple, comfortable place to rest. The hotel’s proximity to Terminal 4 was a major plus.
The only downside was the need to leave the secure area, as opposed to staying airside. However, given the significantly higher prices for airside hotels (often exceeding £250 per night), the Holiday Inn Express was undoubtedly the more budget-friendly option.
