Purchasing Tickets to the Pécs TV Tower
Finding the ticket booth for the Pécs TV Tower can be a bit tricky as it’s located across from the tower and resembles a snack stand. An adult ticket costs HUF1,400 (approximately $4).
Once you have your ticket in hand, you can press the button to call the elevator. There’s an elevator operator who will check your ticket before you ascend to the observation deck.
The Observation Deck of the Pécs TV Tower
The Pécs TV Tower elevator arrives at the restaurant level, just below the observation deck. A short flight of about twenty steps leads to the outdoor viewing platform.
Featuring a 360-degree observation deck, the Pécs TV Tower offers stunning panoramic views of Pécs, the surrounding forests, and distant fields. For optimal visibility, consider visiting in the afternoon to avoid glare.
Take your time exploring the Pécs TV Tower’s deck and look for the city’s famous landmarks, such as the Pécs Cathedral, the Mosque of Pasha Qasim, and Széchenyi Square.
Be prepared for wind and hold onto your belongings. The deck is open-air and there’s no time limit, so enjoy the experience at your own pace. Surprisingly, I found the tower quite peaceful during my visit.
When ready to descend, simply press the elevator button and the operator will take you back to the ground level.
Pécs TV Tower Restaurant and On-Site Amenities
There is a restaurant located just below the Pécs TV Tower’s observation deck. The menu looked appealing and had reasonable prices, but online reviews mentioned inconsistent service times. For those seeking lighter refreshments, there are several snack stands and a small café at the base of the tower.
