During my trip to Belgium, I explored both the medieval charm of Bruges and the miniature wonders of Mini-Europe in Brussels. In Bruges, I wandered through Minnewater Park, admired historic landmarks like the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and enjoyed the festive atmosphere of Market Square’s Christmas markets. The city’s canals, cobblestone streets, and old windmills made for a picturesque day trip.
Back in Brussels, I visited Mini-Europe, where detailed 1:25 scale models brought Europe’s most famous landmarks to life. The interactive displays, from an erupting Mount Vesuvius to moving trains, made for a fun and educational experience.
I also explored highlights of Brussels, including Grand-Place, Mont des Arts, and the Royal Palace. Belgium’s mix of history, culture, and scenic beauty made my visit unforgettable!

Bruges
During my visit to Belgium, I took a day trip to Bruges to explore its historic charm. I arrived by train from Brussels and walked through Minnewater Park before reaching the city center. Bruges’ canals, cobblestone streets, and medieval architecture made me feel like I had stepped back in time.
I visited landmarks like the Church of Our Lady, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and Burg Square, taking in the city’s rich history. Market Square was bustling with Christmas markets, and while I skipped the Belfry climb, I enjoyed the festive atmosphere. I also made my way to the Jan van Eyckplein Statue and the old windmills along Kruisvest.
Before heading back, I couldn’t leave without sampling Bruges’ famous chocolate, stopping at Chocolatier Dumon for a delicious treat. Bruges was a perfect day trip, filled with history, scenic views, and incredible food.
During my trip to Belgium, I spent a full day exploring the fairytale city of Bruges. I started my journey by walking through the peaceful Minnewater Park, where I saw swans gliding near the Pont du Béguinage.
As I wandered along the cobblestone streets, I admired the towering Church of Our Lady, visible from a distance, before stopping at Rozenhoedkaai—one of the most picturesque spots along Bruges’ canals. I took in the stunning architecture of De Burg, stepping inside the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and enjoyed a delicious Flemish stew with a perfect view of the square.
After exploring Market Square and Jan van Eyckplein, I made my way to the historic windmills along Kruisvest, where I spotted ships passing through the canal. Before heading back to the train station, I couldn’t resist stopping at a local chocolatier to bring home some of Bruges’ famous artisan chocolate.
Brussels
