How to Visit Drottningholm Palace
Getting to Drottningholm Palace from the City Center of Stockholm
Drottningholm Palace has been the permanent home of the Swedish Royal Family since 1981.
To get to Drottningholm Palace take the Metro Green Line to Brommaplan and change to the Bus 177. There is a stop called Drottningholm Slott. The bus only stops if the “Stop Button” is pressed so be sure to pay attention or else you might miss your stop.

My Visit to Drottningholm Palace
The Palace offers tours of the grounds and the lake. I was in Stockholm on a Monday, and like the Nordic Museum, the Palace was closed as well. Still, I was able to take some pictures of the outside and walk around the water’s edge as long as I stayed out of the gate.
I would have loved to go inside Drottningholm Palace, but I was perfectly happy looking at the building from the outside. There was no much around the area other than the Palace, but it was fun to look around during the bus ride. This visit was the only time that I was outside of the Stockholm City Center.
